Modified Intraoral C-Osteotomy

چکیده

ABSTRACT Repeated sagittal split osteotomy might impose an increased risk for damage of the inferior alveolar nerve. Another contemporary orthognathic issue is surgical management malocclusion following condylar resorption. Here we describe a modified C-osteotomy technique as proposed solution these difficulties in surgery. The induce less stress on condyles reducing relapse subsequent to resorption, well reduce nerve damage.

Intraoral Zygoma Reduction Using L-shaped Osteotomy

BACKGROUND Because of the various defects of malarplasty, including a large incision, much bleeding, visible scars after the operation, and so on, caused by the conventional coronal incision or the temporal incision with the intraoral incision approach, the malarplasty by simple intraoral approach is an innovative development. METHODS Through the intraoral approach and subperiosteal dissectio...

Rigid fixation of the intraoral inverted 'L' osteotomy.

Several articles have been written on the use of intraoral vertical subcondylar or inverted “L” osteotomies. le4 Although these procedures have been popular with surgeons to set the mandible back, a disadvantage is the necessary use of maxillomandibular fixation for 6 to 12 weeks. Paulus and Steinhauser’ have described lag screw fixation of vertical subcondylar osteotomies. However, they noted ...

Unilateral intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy and sagittal split ramus osteotomy for the treatment of asymmetric mandibles

In surgery for facial asymmetry, mandibles can be classified into two types, rotational and translational, according to the required mandibular movements for surgery. During surgery for rotational mandibular asymmetry, a bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) may cause a large bone gap between the proximal and distal segments as well as condylar displacement, resulting in a relapse of...

Comparative analysis of the amount of postoperative drainage after intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy and sagittal split ramus osteotomy

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this retrospective study was to compare the amount of postoperative drainage via closed suction drainage system after intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO) and sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO). MATERIALS AND METHODS We planned a retrospective cohort study of 40 patients selected from a larger group who underwent orthognathic surgery from 2007 to 2013. Mean a...

Condylar and disc positions after intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy with and without a Le Fort I osteotomy.

The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) morphology and clinical symptoms after intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO) with and without a Le Fort I osteotomy. Of 50 Japanese patients with mandibular prognathism with mandibular and bimaxillary asymmetry, 25 underwent IVRO and 25 underwent IVRO in combination with a Le Fort I osteotomy. The TMJ symp...
